Nursery Theme

Today Matt and I selected the theme for the baby's room. The pattern is called Antique Toys and has classic cars, trucks, bi-planes, sailboats and sports. It's very cute and boyish (and has stripes!). We are so excited about making this decision because now we can start picking out paint colors and really start getting the room together. Until the room is ready, I've attached a photo off the internet showing the pattern.

Also today I had a doctor's appointment. I found out that I passed my glucose screening (yea) which means I don't have gestational diabetes. From now on all my appointments will be 2 weeks apart and we'll meet the two other partners in the practice. Also Matt and I have signed up for a few prenatal classes at the hospital as well as tours at two of the hospitals which we are looking forward to. Hopefully we'll make a decision soon as to where this guy will be born.

Over the weekend we went to Crestview for Erin and Grant's wedding (Erin is Matt's cousin). Everything was beautiful and we had a wonderful time hanging out with Matt's extended family. One funny/cute quote that came from the weekend was when our niece Gracie came up to me after the wedding and pointed at my belly and said "You have a baby in your tummy!" She is such a cutie!

Latest News

Here is an update on recent activities. Last week Matt and I had a doctor's visit and everything went well. I also had a glucose screening test and will get the results next week. We recently went to a wedding in New Orleans (Congrats Brian & Alicia!) which was so much fun. The picture was taken outside the Plantation House where the reception was held. Last weekend we went to Huntsville with a stop in Birmingham and got to visit with our families. It was great to see everyone. It also gave Matt and I lots of car time to think about baby names, baby furniture, nursery themes, etc.... We still have a lot of decisions to make, but we'll get there. We toured our first daycare center today and added our name to the wait list. It was a good experience and we'll be touring additional facilities later this week.

The baby moves all the time which is both exciting and strange. It's hard to believe something so small can be so powerful! Hope to post another update soon.
Much love,
Matt and Emily
