18 months old

I love eating cheese...
And saying "cheese" whenever I see a camera!

Joshua is 18 months old!! It is hard to believe my baby is 1 ½ years old. I’m behind on my blogging so I’ll catch you up on his stats and what he is up to.
Weight: 23lbs 9oz (10-25%)
Height: 32 ¼” (50%)
His ears were good (yea!). He's at or above all of his milestones (talking, pointing, interacting). He was really good for the doctor by not fussing while getting looked over. He even showed off for the doctor by leaving my arms to let him hold him (which he said was atypical). However, when the doctor offered him a sticker, he wouldn't take it from him, but when I got the sticker he immediately took it from me. He got one shot and was really upset about it. He usually gets over it immediately, but he was pouty and wouldn't wave bye bye to the nurse or take the sucker from her (although he took it from me and thoroughly enjoyed wearing it home.)
What's in the fridge?
Funny Joshua Story #1:
I was shopping at the grocery store with Joshua the other day and out of the blue he leaned down and lightly bit my hand which was pushing the cart. I said "Don't bite Mama." Then his face lit up and he said "Bite Mama" and he leaned down and bit my hand again. So I said "No, don’t bite Mama" to which he again said "Bite Mama" and leaned down and bit me with a smile. Clearly the message wasn't coming across or this was just too fun of a game. Either way he was really being too cute to get angry.

Funny Joshua Story #2:
Joshua will do just about anything for a skittle. I was trying to get Joshua to help me clean up the play area, but he was getting distracted so I offered him a skittle and he brought me everything and once they were put up he started looking for his skittle. I was amazed at how far a little bribing can go. Next I asked him to name his body parts for a skittle and he got them all (except elbows, but that’s only recently been added to the list). Then I got him to identify colors and he got them all right. Mommy was very proud of her smart little boy!
Dancing with Daddy
Joshua’s favorite word: Bapples (for apples) – he loves finding them in books, the grocery store, etc.
Joshua’s favorite song: He still really loves “Itsy Bitsy Spider” but another favorite is “My Bonnie lies over the ocean.” He especially likes to say “Be back” for “bring back.”
Joshua's favorite book: Anything that identifies body parts. Right now he really likes "God Loves you Nose to Toes."

He is a happy little boy that brings so much joy to his mommy and daddy. We would probably be more rested if he consistantly slept through the night, but we're working on that. Happy half birthday Joshua!Reading with Mommy

Snow in Florida!

We got some snow over the weekend which was exciting. So what did we do? We went for a drive to Birmingham. Actually we went there for Grandottie’s birthday (Matt’s mom). We had a really nice time visiting with family and Grandottie had a good time spending time with her children and grandchildren. We also got to watch some of the Winter Olympics. Back to the snow – Joshua was asleep when the snow was actually falling in Florida. He didn’t see any snow until he woke up in Alabama. We stopped at a rest area in Greenville so he could play in it. Joshua was not amused. He didn’t want to play in it. He wouldn’t taste any. And he was upset at the snowballs Mommy threw at him. It has been years since I’ve seen any snow so it was oddly entertaining to just look at it and watch people build tiny snowmen. At my parents’ house, Joshua got to ride in a sled, although he mostly enjoyed pulling the sled behind him. Happy Valentine’s Day to all and Happy Birthday Grandottie!Mommy hit me with a snowball!
