Joshua is seven months old today! He's changed so much since August. I'll update you with what he is like. He's become quite chatty. Also he loves watching people, especially his mommy and daddy. He's become more interactive at daycare. When I come to pick him up in the afternoons, he's often sitting on a mat with his classmates playing with toys. It's so sweet. Then comes the best part when he looks up at me and grins. He is such a happy baby. He smiles all the time, especially if he sees he has caught his mommy or daddy's eyes.
He is very interested in his hands. I often catch him twirling a hand in front of him. It's like he's thinking "Wow! My hand is so cool the way it moves!" He likes grabbing his feet. It's a bonus if there is a sock he can pull off to expose those yummy toes. This is still a helpful game when I'm changing him, but now for an extra challenge he likes to twist so he can grab at the basket where I keep his diapers and lotion.
He enjoys playing with his toys on the floor. He still likes to ooch around on his hiney, but recently if we place his pacifier far in front of him, he will stretch and ooch trying to reach it. He'll go so far as to fall forward and get to a crawling position to get what he wants, but then he rolls onto his back. He loves playing in his exersaucer. Matt and I often place him in it when we're having dinner. We ask him "Do you want to work?" because he is serious and busy when "working" in his exersaucer.
Joshua is still not much of an eater when it comes to baby food. To be fair, we haven't practiced as regularly as we probably should. Matt and I will keep working with him so I'm sure it will catch on. Joshua's two bottom teeth are coming in. They are so small and cute and also really really sharp!
I'll end with one last story. Joshua enjoys having books read to him. It is especially cute to watch Matt read Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What to do You Hear? because after he reads the opening line, Joshua looks back at his Daddy with a huge smile as if to say "what's next?" Matt will smooch his little head and read the animal's sound then turn the page and say "Elephant, Elephant, what do you hear?" and Joshua looks back with that big smile and so on and so on. It is very sweet!
